Target users, supported users, and non-supported users
With all the documents created, we can make a further analysis of the users we support and those who will be out of our platform solution.
When you are creating a solution, it is very difficult to satisfy all the potential user needs, so it may be necessary to know who you are working for. You can classify the users into three groups, and those will determine the importance of focusing on their needs when creating the design:
- Target users: This is the main group for us. All included personas that are in this group should find their needs covered if possible. We will study the scenarios that affect this group of people and will try to ensure that all the required tasks can be completed with our design solution.
- Supported users: In this group, we will have the users who, even if they are not the main objective of our platform, should be taken into consideration when designing the project. If we have the possibility to match some of their needs without affecting the needs of the target group, we will try to cover these tasks in the best possible way.
- Non-supported users: Everybody else will be in this group. As mentioned earlier, and especially for complex tasks, sometimes it is not possible to solve the needs of every kind of user. So, we need to make the team understand that some users will not be taken into account when designing our solution and therefore some great ideas will not be considered correct for a complete project:
