How should I create a persona document?

Usually, a Persona Document is a one- or two-page long document where we summarize the knowledge we have about a group of people with similar interests, goals, and difficulties. This document is focused on what we know from those users regarding the task we want to solve with our design solution. Personas Documents are also used on the marketing field, as a way to strategize the marketing actions. For our purpose, demographics and status can impact our classification, but we will also need to focus on all the aspects that change the way that a person, or group of people, interact with our system or platform.

Try to find those aspects that really affect the user behavior in your platform and create groups based on these characteristics. For example, if you were drawing up personas for an educational platform, the user experience with computers could be a key skill to interact with the system. Try to group people that have similar goals and difficulties into the same group. For instance, following the same example, for the same platform, we could distinguish between young users, very accustomed to using technology daily and another group of users with more experience in non-technological tools and perhaps of an older age. Each group will be represented by an imaginary person who complies with the general lines of each group. Adapting our solution properly, we can achieve satisfactory results for both the groups and therefore for the common objective.
