
Building searches
Users will often ask administrators to help them execute searches and reports. NetSuite lets you build the search template, instead of just building each inpidual search. The user will access the search by going to the Search option on the menu for that record; for instance, Lists | Relationships | Customers | Search. This is a multifaceted search, giving the user the ability to run filters on one or more of the fields. The administrator can also edit the search to add fields to search on:

Click the Create Saved Search button and add additional fields to the Available Filters tab, with SHOW IN FILTER REGION checked. Then, go to the Roles tab, and make this the preferred form for the role. Give it a name, and click Save. The users with that role will now be able to execute searches with those additional fields when they go to Lists | Relationships | Customers | Search.
